Sad day: Rihanna paid tribute to a fan who died in a car accident yesterday on her Twitter page


Rihanna has paid tribute to a young fan who died in a car accident as she was listening to the Bajan singer’s music.

The 17-year-old known only as Karen, who ran a Twitter fan page for the singer, died on Tuesday in a fatal car accident.

The singer was told by Karen’s friend Anderson that the teenager had died in a car crash and was listening to Rihanna at the time.

The 23-year-old singer paid tribute to her fan and tweeted: ‘One of my biggest RihannaNavy fans died today in a car accident!!! Gone but never EVER forgotten!!!! She was only 17 #DearKaren’

Karen’s friend Anderson who helps to update the @RihannaSpanish page tweeted: ‘Karen's parents told me that she died listening "The Last Song" off Rated R.’

Simple style: The singer was leaving her hotel to head to her concert in Long Island and was dressed in a white T-shirt dress with uneven hemline, a Billionaire boys club hat and a pair of plimsolls


Other Rihanna fans have paid tribute to the teenager and Rihanna has retweeted a number of the messages on her page.

Rihanna is currently on tour and left her hotel in Manhattan yesterday dressed in a white T-shirt dress with slashed hemline a green Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell William's label, baseball cap turned sideways and a pair of huge shades.

The singer, who was making her way to her concert venue in Long Island wore a pair of black plimsolls and accessoried with heavy gold jewellery as she made her way to her car.
