She's expecting a baby girl in late summer, but she looks ready for labour any day now.

And heavily pregnant Uma Thurman decided to treat herself to an ice-cream earlier today in New York City.

With a make-up free face and her blonde hair down, the 42-year-old highlighted her growing baby bump in a clingy brown top.

Uma completed her maternity look with a cropped grey cardigan, dark blue jeans, and brown loafers.

The man selling the frozen treats must have been quite amusing since the Pulp Fiction star could not help but laugh hard while talking to him on the Manhattan street.

Uma began dating London-based financier Arpad Busson in 2007 before becoming engaged, breaking up two years later, and then rekindling their love last year.

'They definitely weren't trying,' a source told US Weekly in March. 'The engagement isn't back on. For now they're just trying to be happy.'

The on-and-off pair haven't been photographed together since their romantic stroll at the boat basin on New York's Upper West Side last month, but earlier this year she gushed about her love life.

'I’m happier with it now than I’ve been in many, many years. Yes I’m trying to have as peaceful a personal life as possible,' she told Harper's Bazaar magazine.

Busson also has two children, Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson, with former girlfriend, Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Last week, the critically-acclaimed actress was seen spending quality time with her 10-year-old son Levon and one of his friends.

Levon is from Uma's former marriage to Ethan Hawke, with whom she also has 13-year-old daughter Maya.

Last month, the Dangerous Liaisons star watched her 14-year-old daughter Maya sing the Townes Van Zandt song 'No Place to Fall' at Caffe Vivaldi as her 41-year-old father Ethan played guitar.

This Friday, her film Bel Ami with Robert Pattinson is released, in which she plays his initial patroness, a wildly independent woman named Madeleine Forestier.

'I will not be your mistress,' her character announces to the Twilight star. 'I am not like other women. I will not accept authority!'

Despite her pregnancy, Uma won't take any time off from the silver screen.

The soon-to-be mother-of-three has said being a mum is 'an invitation to love' and 'the greatest gift,' and that in the past she's definitely sacrificed work to spend more time with her children.

'Having children flips the game from being about you to about what you can create in a home and what your responsibilities are,' Uma told Candis in 2010.

'I've thought about quitting acting, but I love what I do so much - it's the big conundrum of my life. So I'm fighting to keep my foot in the business, be creative and stimulated, and still take care of my children.'

It seems Uma Thurman was REALLY looking forward to her appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The Kill Bill star strutted onto the show with a white bandage on her upper arm before taking it off to reveal a red and black inked heart with the word Jimmy.

Luckily, on closer inspection the body art was fake.

Really? The 'tattoo' appeared to be drawn on


'Did you get injured?' Fallon asked the star..

'Well kind of, it is sort of for you, I must have stayed out to late and you might as well have a look,' Uma said.

Underneath the bandage was a flaming heart.

'I don't know how I am going to impress you next time,' Uma joked.

Asked about Kill Bill 3 she claimed it had not been written yet but she had 'not yet lost her looks' for it.

Uma appeared on the show to promote her new film Ceremony.

The 40-year-old stars alongside up-and-coming actor, Michael Angarano, 23, in a romantic comedy about an older woman’s fling with a much younger guy.

Uma plays Zoe, a mature singleton who is seemingly too distracted by the life to settle down. That is, until she finally gets engaged, only for her toyboy ex to show up on the day of her wedding and declare his undying love for her.

Walking tall: Uma Thurman looked stunning in a gold coat-style dress as she arrived at the premiere of her new movie Ceremony in Los Angeles last night


At six foot tall, Uma Thurman has well and truly reached the dizzying heights of fame.

And last night, that was clear to see as the 40-year-old actress towered over her male co-star Michael Angarano at the premiere in Los Angeles last night.

The director and writer of the movie, Max Winkler, suffered the same fate, coming off short as he posed alongside the statuesque star.

Ceremony initially premiered last September at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of it opening night in Hollywood.

It tells the story of a character called Sam (Michael Angarano) who convinces his one-time best friend to spend a weekend with him in a bid to rekindle their friendship.

The head to an picturesque beachside estate owned by a famous documentary filmmaker, played by Lee Pace.

Lending their support: Actress Bryce Dallas Howard and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville were also at the event


But it doesn't take long for Sam to become infatuated with the filmmaker's fiancée, Zoe, who is played by Thurman.

Sam sets on a mission to thwart their impending wedding day - but it doesn't come without its complications.

The film opens in cinemas on April 8.
