Going bold in gold! Mariah Carey shows off her voluptuous figure in a VERY clinging dress complete with thigh high split

Labels:

By Daily Mail Reporter

She recently revealed she had lost a whopping 30lbs in just three months after embarking on a strict diet and fitness plan.

And Mariah Carey was showing off the results today in style, sporting a very clinging gold dress for a new photoshoot.

The 42-year-old singer showed off her voluptuous figure in the gown while posing for snaps on board a boat moored near the Italian isle of Capri.

All that glitters: Mariah Carey showed off her curvy figure in a clinging floor length gold dress complete with cut out side panels on a boat moored near the Italian isle of Capri earlier today

The clinging one shouldered gown featured cut out panels at the sides and a daring thigh high split, which showed off Mariah's newly toned figure.

She wore her hair in a high ponytail and at one point sported oversized sunglasses to shield her eyes from the bright sunshine.

Strappy high heeled sandals and oversized gold hoop earrings completed the look.

Ahoy there! Mariah soaked up the sun as they posed in the striking gown on the boat , with the glittering ocean in the background

Perfect pins: The singer's revealing gown showed off her toned legs and slimline figure, with black and gold high heeled shoes

The star seemed to enjoy posing for the snaps, but ensured she checked the results on the photographer's camera.

She was also spotted getting a make-up touch up on one of the boat's cabins before changing into a more simple black dress for some shots with her children.

Taking her high heeled shoes off, posed at the back of the ship with baby Moroccan, who sat happily in her arms while more photographs were taken.

I'm ready for my close up: Mariah seemed to be enjoying herself as she gestured to her assistants

Flashing the flesh: The star happily showed off her figure after recently revealing she had lost 30lbs in just three months

Results check: Mariah ensured she approved of the results of her photoshoot by checking the photographer's camera images

The star has been busy relaxing with the cute 13-month-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, fathered by husband Nick Cannon, who is currently in the U.S. where he is hosting America's Got Talent.

Mariah recently discussed her weight loss, which came a year after gaining 70lbs whilst pregnant with the twins.

'Everyone said I was fat, so I did something about it,' she recently told Shape magazine.

New methods: Mariah recently told a magazine that she believed '90 per cent of my weight is my diet'

Touch up: Mariah's make-up was freshened up in between shots in the ship's cabin

Taking a break: Mariah made her way inside the boat to check on her babies Moroccan and Monroe

“Pregnancy was probably the best and the hardest thing I’ll ever go through. I know for a lot of women, it can be wonderful and relatively easy. But for me, it was like "Okay, honey, do you have to do everything the hard way?"'

The star lost 40lbs of water weight when she gave birth to the fraternal twins on April 30 last year and shed the rest with a Jenny Craig diet of around 1500 calories a day.

'I used to be able to slim down just by exercising more, but that’s changed,' she told the magazine. 'Since having the babies, I realise that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.'

Girly time: The singer poses with her beautiful daughter Monroe on the boat for more pictures

Say cheese: Mariah urges little 13-month-old Moroccan to look at the camera but he seems a bit reluctant

Setting sail: The singer was in good spirits and seemed happy and relaxed as she took her boat ride

She also last year told talk show host Rosie O'Donnell: 'I'm proud of how hard I worked to get my body back, adding: 'I had to do this for me.'

And instead of weighing herself, the singer said she measured the weight loss by how things felt.

'"Does this dress fit better than it did three years ago?" she told Rosie. 'Then I'd be like, "Ok, I'm good!"' she said.

Stepping ashore: The star took a helping hand from two of the boat's crew as she was helped on to the mainland

Helping hand: Mariah Carey's trainer lead the way during a work out in New York

After giving birth to fraternal twins via C-Section back in April, Mariah Carey spend time allowing her body to recover.

But singer is clearly now ready to get back in shape and has been working out hard to retain her svelte physique.

The 41-year-old star was spotted looking a little out of breath as she finished a long power walk through New York with a personal trainer and a friend yesterday.

Dressed in grey cut off tracksuit bottoms and a black vest top, the Butterfly singer looked tired and sweaty as she made her way back towards her Tribeca apartment.

At one point her trainer grabbed her hand to help her across the street as a weary Mariah looked about ready to give up.

Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon, 30, welcomed their twins, Monroe and Morocco on April 30.

The proud father and America's Got Talent host said that not only will his wife lose the pounds she put on whilst pregnant, she's also going to look like she did in her twenties.

Out of puff: The singer, who gave birth to twins in April, appeared a little tired

The 30-year-old told America's OK! Magazine: 'She is getting it off, she is about to be 1990 again!'

She recently admitted that pregnancy was tough on her, saying: 'My body went through so much - you have to keep those twins in as long as possible, but it's a sacrifice you make for them.'

Nick also recently said that his children's personalities were already showing through, with Monroe a lot like her famous mother.

'My daughter is a diva. My son is laid back. When he wakes up, he wakes up smiling. He'll wait for a minute and if he's hungry, he'll let you know.

'My daughter is just instant, she goes in and will not stop crying til you give her what she wants. It's like sleep and then screaming.

'My daughter is just on one all the time.'

But fans haven't been given the opportunity to see whether the youngsters look like the actor or their singer mother.

The only photo the couple have released was of Monroe with a hand covering her face.

Mariah tweeted the picture, with the comment: 'This is baby Monroe saying "no pictures dahhhhling" at 7+1/2 weeks..oh dear :)'

Talk to the hand! Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe shows she is a diva

It seems Mariah Carey's daughter Monroe really is as big a diva as her father claimed.

The two-month-old was snapped making a no-pictures gesture by none other than Mimi herself.

Her cute daughter was in no mood to have her photograph taken, even by her multi-million selling music star mother.

Happy parents: Nick Cannon revealed he and wife Mariah Carey love being new parents

The Charm Bracelet star posted the pic on her Twitter account and wrote: 'This is baby Monroe saying 'no pictures dahhhhling' at 7+1/2 weeks. Oh dear.'

Last week her husband Nick Cannon revealed his daughter was already turning out just like her mother, who is one of the music world's biggest divas.

He said his daughter and her twin brother Moroccan are developing personalities just like their parents.

Nick, 30, said: ‘My son is laid back like me and my daughter's a diva like her mom.
‘When my daughter wants something, she'll let you know immediately.

‘With our son you kind of feed him when you get around to it, and he's okay with that.’

However the America's Got Talent host said Mariah, 42, has since overcome her some of her diva tendencies and is busy changing the children’s nappies.

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon in clear after social services investigation into 'drinking' near the twins

Labels: ,

By Jody Thompson

In the clear: Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon have had the Child Protective Services investigation into their care for their twins closed

The social services investigation into Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon following the birth of their twins has finally been closed after officials decided there was no case to answer.

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services concluded that there was 'no merit' to the case, which was sparked by an anonymous tip-off saying the Glitter star had been drinking near the babies.

Apparently, social workers interviewed Mariah, 41, today and spent time with the twins before deciding her babies Moroccan and Monroe were in a 'healthy and safe environment'.

Celebrity website TMZ says Mariah's lawyer, Laura Wasser, was present for the duration of the DCFS interview.

The investigation was triggered by a phone call to DCFS complaining that Mariah had drunk Guinness while breast feeding.

The star and her husband were allowed to take their twins home from Cedars Sinai Medical Center last week, but their delight had been marred by the investigation into wheter drugs and alcohols were used near the babies in hospital.

Cannon, 30, and Carey, who have been married for three years, have been under investigation after the television host said someone may have overheard a nurse suggesting to Mariah to 'drink Guinness... the yeast improves breast-feeding'.

The case has now officially been closed after they received a visit by a case worker at their home lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Excited: New dad Nick Cannon went to the KIIS FM Wango Tango event in Los Angeles last week after safely getting his wife and babies home

Moroccan Scott and Monroe were born on April 30, both weighing under 6lbs.

Cannon told CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight last Thursday that the incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.

'It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding', he said.

'Then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.'

He said once he spoke to the Child Protective Services explaining that the comment was clearly taken out of context, all was resolved.

'When I spoke to the person for the CPS they said this is ridiculous,' he said.
He said that the negative press surrounding the twins birth was disappointing.
'Man it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital,' he said.

Television personality and comic Nick meanwhile has said he is 'freaked out about being a new dad'.

On his radio show last week, he said he was worried about them suffocating or him having to possibly give them CPR one day.

'This is the kind of stuff that is making me go crazy when you have two new babies', he shared. 'I cannot relax. I am OCD-ing. They don't tell you this part about being a new parent.'

Explanation: Cannon told CNN's Piers Morgan that the 'drinking' fracas began after a nurse told Mariah about stout improving the yeast in breast milk

Cannon also recently revealed that his wife is not expected to reduce her work schedule even though she is now a mother of two.

The diva actually recorded a new album while she was pregnant with 'Roc + Roe' and plans to release it in the next few months.

'She's planning on having a record out this year. She's been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and the pregnancy has totally inspired her on so many different levels. You're definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah', Cannon shared.

The unusual monikers of the children have sentimental value to the couple, who renewed their marriage vows on the same day the children were born.

The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor, and it is the room where Nick proposed to his wife.

Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name. Their daughter was named after Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.

Sad: Nick Cannon has spoken of his disappointment surrounding a tabloid scam involving his wife Mariah Carey on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight last night

Nick Cannon has revealed his anger about false tabloid reports involving his wife Mariah Carey.

Child Protective Services were called following reports of 'drinking and drugs' going on in the couple's hospital room following the birth of the their twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30.

Speaking out on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, the 30-year-old said the incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.

'It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding,' he said.

'Then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.'

'Man it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital,' he said.

'It is (frustrating), but you got to have to understand this is something you have to deal with. It is sad that people have to go to those lengths. '

One thing that will no doubt cheer Mariah up from the fracas is the lavish Mother's Day gift that Nick recently splurged on for his wife.

Days after their twins were born, Nick treated his wife to a four-carat diamond and sapphire necklace spelling out their namesakes from up-scale jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills.

'Nick was really excited about the babies’ names and wanted to do a piece with them for Mariah’s first Mother’s Day,' Jason Arasheben revealed to People magazine.

'Pink sapphires are bright and bold and diamonds are always so classic.'

The $12,000 necklace also features white and rose gold.

Happy: Mariah gave birth to the couple twins at the end of last month

'Nick came in and met with Jason on the Friday after his twins were born,' a source told People.

'He was bleary eyed, looking so tired but so happy — all smiles, saying he wanted to design something special for Mariah’s first Mother’s day.

'He couldn’t want to surprise her on Sunday.'

Mariah and Nick's twins Moroccan and Monroe were born on the 30th of April, the couple's wedding day.

Mariah has long cited the Fifties actress as an inspiration and she even owns the late star's white piano.

They decided not give their daughter a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.

Spokesperson Cindi Berger told CNN: 'It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.'

Earlier this week, Mariah took to Twitter to stir up a guessing game about the names.

The proud pop diva hinted that both names begin with the letter 'M' and is urged her followers to submit their theories.

It is not known if any fans guessed correctly.

Doting dad: Nick was spotted various times following the birth visiting his wife

Details of the birth emerged quickly after the twins were born.

It transpired that Nick had flown into a blind panic while rushing his wife to hospital as she gave birth.

So much so, the America's Got Talent presenter got lost and drove to the wrong department before a nurse gave him directions.

Mariah was in a far calmer state, believing she was just having another false alarm.

Mariah's rep Berger confirmed the twins' arrival - a girl and a boy - saying the superstar delivered at 12:07 pm EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles.

Berger said the baby girl was born first, weighing 5lbs 3oz and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5lbs 6oz and was 19 inches.

Nick drove Carey to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Berger said the couple were listening to Mariah's We Belong Together after the children were born.

Nick tweeted in the day: 'My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!'

The couple got married in 2008 after a whirlwind romance.

Sweet tweet: Nick tweeted his excitement the day the twins were born

They were the subject of endless baby rumours, and the couple actually were expecting shortly after their marriage.

However Mariah had a miscarriage - they did not reveal the miscarriage until she announced her pregnancy last autumn.

The couple plan to live a bi-coastal life, and have luxurious nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.

'It can happen any second, we're all pins and needles here. She's made it further than most people with twins make it - I think they've got college educations already!'

Asked if he planned to be in the delivery room, Cannon admitted: 'I'm not too good with hospitals - I get woozy with blood. If they assign me a nurse too I can be there.

'I have a newfound respect and admiration for my wife - seeing what they go through; I could never do that. My hat's off to her, she's been amazing.'

He said their earlier miscarriage was 'really tough', especially because they are so high profile - but he also believes it may be the reason they are now expecting twins, one boy and one girl.

Getting ready for babies: Mariah Carey in the nursery she has created in her Bel Air, California, home ahead of the arrival of her twins

With less than a month until her due date, Mariah Carey is making certain that her twins will be born into luxury.

The 42-year-old has given a sneak peek inside the lavish new nursery she has created in the Bel Air, California, mansion she shares with her husband, Nick Cannon, 30.

The room is trimmed with her signature motif - butterflies - and stuffed-animals including a lamb and a huge giraffe, which was a gift from Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.

'I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies,' Mariah, who is expecting a boy and a girl, tells the new issue of America's Life&Style magazine.

'Everything matches, but pieces are individualized to celebrate the twins as separate entities.'

She called decorator Mario Buatta and AFK Furniture's Gail Sedigh to help transform the rooms.

'I feel like I’m bringing two individuals into the world, so I wanted to do more than cookie-cutter styles in blue and pink.'

They opted for a pink and green theme bed trimmings rather than the traditional pink and blue.

Mariah also looked to her own music for inspiration.

'The ceiling has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars twinkling. It’s based on two songs I wrote that are fan favourites: Underneath the Stars and Close My Eyes,' she reveals.

Double the fun: The room features two cots and huge toy giraffe, a gift from Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne

'Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled.'

The couple also have an apartment in New York, however they are still deciding where to raise their children.

'I prefer the East Coast schooling over the West Coast,' Nick says. 'But there are other things that come into play, like work.'

Mariah, who is due on May 14, is eager to begin her new role.

'Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world. I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us,' Mariah says.
