Maxi-mum fashion fail: Alexandra Burke took to the stage last night wearing an unflattering dress which made her look a lot bigger than she is

She said in a recent interview that she 'turns into a Beast' when she put on heels and gets on stage.

But despite belting out her best hits last night as she performed with Dionne Warwick in London, Alexandra Burke left a lot to be desired in an outfit which did nothing to flatter her slim figure.

Former X Factor winner Alexandra wore a dress which featured a plunging sheer black lace top and a full pink skirt - an overall outfit which made her appear much bigger than she actually is.


The 23-year-old singer teamed the dress with silver earrings, and wore her black hair slicked back into a quiff.

In a recent interview with Javari.co.uk, Alexandra said she finds that she really gets into her element when she's on stage.

She said: 'I’ve been training in heels since the age of 14. My sister once said to me: ‘If you really want to be a superstar like Beyoncé, you have to be able to dance in heels.

And last night Alexandra achieved one of her life's aims as she performed alongside singing legend Dionne Warwick.

Before the performance, Alexandra wrote on her Twitter page: 'About to perform with Dionne Warwick... So nervous x'

Alexandra also tweeted pictures of herself backstage at the performance, looking radiant as she smiled for the camera.

They had a less than amicable split following rumours of his infidelity.

And now it seems Alexandra Burke is determined to make things difficult for her ex-boyfriend Jermain Defoe, after reports he is keen for the return of his £175,000 Bentley.

Following Defoe's reported claims that he only loaned the luxury vehicle to her, Alexandra was seen keeping the matte black car firmly under lock and key in her driveway.

Under lock and key: It looks like Alexandra Burke has no intention of giving ex-boyfriend Jermain Defoe back his Bentley, as it was seen locked behind a gate on her driveway today

The Bentley was today seen sitting on the gravel driveway of Alexandra's London home, behind a locked gate.

Alexandra's decision to keep the car locked up comes as it was claimed Defoe is demanding the return of all the gifts he showered her with during their relationship.

Defoe has also asked Alexandra to hand over a watch and ring but the Bad Boys performer is apparently refusing because he has items from her wardrobe in his mansion.

A source close to the footballer told the Daily Star, 'It’s a sad state of affairs that it has become so acrimonious within a week of them agreeing it was worth trying to make their relationship work. Jermain wants his Bentley back along with other items he gave Alex.'

The source explained that the 29-year-old player had only showered Burke with gifts because she agreed to give him a second chance following news he had cheated on her with Geordie model Laura Brown.

'After the first cheating story, Jermain assured Alex he had learned his lesson and he tried to prove it with gifts, and she adored him so gave him another chance,' the source revealed to the paper.

'He didn’t cheat again on Alex after that, but another girl came forward claiming she had also slept with Jermain early on in his relationship with Alex. It seems that although Jermain hadn’t strayed again, Alex couldn’t take hearing about another girl and finished it.'

A spokesperson for the soccer ace declined to offer a comment to MailOnline.

She teamed the outfit with a black cropped leather jacket and a pair of aviator sunglasses.

Showing off her unique sense of style, Alexandra finished off her look with a pair of black ankle boots which had wooden wedged heels.

Doing her rounds promoting her new album Heartbreak On Hold, the singer made an appearance on Lorraine Live where she performed her latest offering Let It Go.

Happy with how the show went, she tweeted, 'Had so much fun on Lorraine Kelly's show! Forgot my dancing shoes today lol! Thanks @randallwatson 4the loan! Lol love you! X'

The former X Factor singer was spotted earlier today as she left the ITV studios in London but she didn't look like she was in the mood for a photo op.

Wearing an odd pair of ankle boots, Alexandra made her way to her waiting car in a haste failing to flashing a smile.

And following a day spent on a yacht with some friends, yesterday he uploaded another post which read, 'Great day on the yacht with my team @croberts22 @Reubes @Rem1Nelson been eating and training well too feeling sharp'.

She’s famed for her skintight outfits and raunchy dance routines and Alexandra Burke didn’t disappoint as she took to the stage at the In: Demand Live concert in Glasgow yesterday.

Sporting skin-tight black leggings, a matching bra-top, lace-up boots and an open jacket, Alexandra didn’t seem to care that the look was highly unflattering, making her look bigger than she is and gamely threw herself into her performance.

Alexandra was one of a number of performers at the event including headliner and FHM’s sexiest woman in the world Tulisa Contostavlos and gorgeous girlband The Saturdays so maybe she felt she had to compete by flashing the flesh.

Yet, despite her best efforts the 23-year-old ‘All Night Long’ singer just ended up looking frumpy when she took to the stage at the SECC Clyde Auditorium.

However, Alexandra can be forgiven for not looking her best after going through a difficult few months.

The X Factor winner was recently the subject of death threats on Twitter and last month had to call in extra security at one of her live performances after online haters vowed to throw bricks at her on the night.

A source told the Daily Mirror: ‘Alex’s mum was particularly upset by the horrible messages so she decided it was best to contact the police.

'They went down to the venue before the party started, and Alex had a team of security around with her all night to make sure that she stayed safe.’

A friend told The Sun: ‘Alex is heartbroken but she has ended it. It’s all over. They are not together any more. Alex thought Jermain might be the one but has now decided to move on with her life.’

Barely there dress: Beyonce rocked a sparkly mini at the launch of her Beyonce Pulse fragrance in New York tonight


If you're Beyonce Knowles, pregnancy simply isn't an excuse for being unfashionable.

The 30-year-old singer stepped out tonight in New York City in another fashion-friendly frock.

In fact, her hemline of her sequined blue dress was so short that her teeny baby bump was barely noticeable.

She paired her ensemble with a matching blazer and peep-toed Christian Louboutins, her golden locks in a fishtail braid.


The glowing mum-to-be was out showing off her pins to promote her newest fragrance, Beyonce Pulse, at the Dream Downtown's Penthouse.

Although the moment clearly hasn't arrived yet, given the length of her dress, she says she's having a blast looking for chic maternity wear.

'I am having so much fun, it has been the most fun time now that [my pregnancy] has been announced,' she recently told CNN. 'It was really difficult to conceal.'

And the singer also revealed she will be working for as long as she can before the birth.

She told the Associated Press: 'When you are excited about something, you don't have to think about your energy, it is natural and comes from adrenaline.

'It is important that I don't look at this like an illness. I am not sick. I am the same woman and I have the same passions.'

'I think she'll be an incredible mother, because she's always been motherly," she told US Weekly of her friend. 'She takes so many traits from her mother, and I just think it's going to be so natural for her. It's natural for her now!'

Although her due date is not known, Beyonce is reportedly nearly four months along.
