They've not long announced their separation but it seems that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis are already on good terms.
The actor has flown to his home in the South of France for a family holiday with Vanessa, 39, and their two children, Lily-Rose, 13 and nine-year-old Jack.
It seems the couple wanted to spend some quality time with their children and have out their differences aside for the sake of doing so.

Johnny Depp is said to have bought Vanessa Paradis an engraved pendant and flown to the South of France to attempt a reconciliation
Instead of spending his break from filming The Lone Ranger in New Mexico with rumoured new girlfriend Amber Heard, he rushed to see Vanessa and presented her with an antique gold pendant inscribed with a message about how he will always love her.
A friend told The Sun ‘They are having a family holiday to show the kids they are still a strong family even if those two are split or not.
‘But the fact he presented her with such a touching gift, it’s almost as if they could make another go of things.
While the couple had not been photographed together for some time before their split, Johnny is thought to want a reunion for the sake of their kids
‘Johnny wants to be with his family, he’s a very family oriented man, his kids mean everything to him.’
The couple need to spend time together with their kids away from the distractions of Hollywood, according to the friend and they decided on France where they have spent some of their happiest times.
Depp, 48, and Vanessa got together in 1998 when they met in the Costes Hotel in Paris while he was filming the Roman Polanski film The Ninth Gate.
He previously had a high-profile engagement to Winona Ryder and a long-term relationship with Kate Moss and she had just come out of a relationship with French-Slovenian actor Stanislas Merhar, having been reportedly engaged to singer Lenny Kravitz before that.
Johnny has told friends he wants to be with his family and has flown to be with Vanessa and the kids during his break from filming The Lone Ranger
A year after they got together, Depp and Paradis' first child, daughter Lily-Rose, was born, followed by their son Jack in 2002.
They never married but Johnny has stated that having children cemented roots for him and added that they gave him 'real foundation, a real strong place to stand in life, in work, in everything'.
He added: 'You can't plan the kind of deep love that results in children. Fatherhood was not a conscious decision. It was part of the wonderful ride I was on. It was destiny; kismet. All the math finally worked.'

Johnny's rumoured relationship with former co-star Amber Heard is thought to have cooled

•Depp's publicist confirmed couple have 'amicably separated'
•Split rumours denied for months by Depp and Paradis
•Not seen at a public event together since 2010
•Depp has been linked to bisexual Rum Diaries co-star Amber Heard
•Couple have two children, several homes around the world and he is worth an estimated $300million

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have split after nearly 14 years together.
The actor's publicist finally confirmed this afternoon the couple had 'amicably separated' despite their repeated denials their relationship was in trouble.
Depp, 49, and Paradis, 39, have two children, Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9.
The French-born actress and the American star who famously never married, have not been seen at a public event together since 2010.
Vanessa did not attend any of the promotional events for recent film Dark Shadows or The Rum Diaries, in which he starred alongside blonde bisexual actress Amber Heard, 26, whom Depp has been romantically linked to.

Making it official: Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have announced they are splitting after 14 years together
News of the split comes just a month after it was claimed the couple were 'working on' getting their relationship back on track.
According to People tonight, they 'tried for months' with a source telling the publication: 'They've tried for months to save the relationship but have known for weeks that it couldn't be saved.'
The 'Dark Shadows' star recently blasted untrue speculation about his relationship being over and said: 'The rumours are not true. They are absolutely not true.
'No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite. I can't say enough about it not being over.'
And it seems that Depp was determined to weather the bad times, making a last ditch bid to save the relationship.
At the time a source told E! News: 'For the first time in a long time, he is talking about her [Vanessa]. They both want to make it work.'
Rumours: Depp and his Rum Diaries co-star Amber Heard who was seen accompanying him to Las Vegas on his private jet as he promoted his latest film Dark Shadows
Paradis also denied the speculation and hit out against the claims in TV chat show Le Grand Journal as she promoted her new movie Cafe de Flore.
She said: ''People say we are buying houses in the middle of nowhere, or that we have fifty two houses in France.
'And that is along with saying we split up every winter and get married every summer, and that I'm on my twelfth pregnancy.
'All that is not too serious, but this latest one is a rumour which could cause a lot of harm to my family and my children.'
However, a few months later a number of publications carried pictures and reports that Johnny and Heard enjoyed a trip together to Las Vegas on a private plane when he was in town promoting Tim Burton movie Dark Shadows.
Hitching more than a ride? Heard was snapped boarding Depp's private jet with the actor in Las Vegas in April
Again, Vanessa was nowhere to be seen and didn't accompany him on any of his promotional duties for the film.
Last month they continued to deny that their relationship was on the rocks, but Vanessa was snapped walking round Los Angeles looking rather glum and hiding under a big hat.
Last week she scowled at photographers as she flew out of Los Angeles under another huge hat as she jetted to France for the Cabourg Film Festival.
And ever the professional, three days later she flashed her sexy gap-toothed smile as she joined her co-stars for the photocall for her new movie Je Me Suis Fait Tout Petit (I Was Made Very Small).
And throughout the day she did not shy away from meeting people and was happy to sign items for fans, even though the announcement of her split from Depp was imminent.
Depp, 48, and Vanessa, 39, got together in 1998 when they met in the Costes Hotel in Paris while he was filming the Roman Polanski film The Ninth Gate.
He had had a high-profile engagement to Winona Ryder and a long-term relationship with Kate Moss and she had just come out of a relationship with French-Slovenian actor Stanislas Merhar, having been reportedly previously engaged to singer Lenny Kravitz.
A year after they got together, Depp and Paradis's first child, daughter Lily-Rose Melody, was born, followed by their son John 'Jack' Christopher in 2002.
In 2007, the family were in London when Lily-Rose fell ill with a serious E.coli infection that caused her kidneys to start shutting down and she was rushed to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
So grateful was Depp for the care and attention the staff gave his daughter that in November 2007 he visited in his Pirates of the Caribbean character Jack Sparrow to visit the patients and the following year he donated £1million to the hospital.
Ever the professional: Just a couple of days ago, Vanessa put on a brave face as she attended a photocall for her new film in Cabourg, France and happily signed autographs for fans
He and Paradis never married but he recently stated that having children cemented roots for him and added that they gave him 'real foundation, a real strong place to stand in life, in work, in everything'.
He added: 'You can't plan the kind of deep love that results in children. Fatherhood was not a conscious decision.
It was part of the wonderful ride I was on. It was destiny; kismet. All the math finally worked.'
And Paradis explained why the pair never felt the need to marry and said: 'I love the romance of "let's get married", but then, when you have it so perfect ... I mean, I'm more married than anybody can be – we have two kids. Maybe one day, but it's something I can really do without.'
In 2010, she also gushed: 'I could make an endless list of all the things I admire about him.
'We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other. Not everyone is lucky enough to be given space and trust.'
Depp is worth an estimated $300million and the family have divided their time between their homes in Meudon, in the suburbs of Paris, two in Los Angeles, an island he bought in The Bahamas and their villa in Le Plan-de-la-Tour, a small town 20 km from Saint-Tropez, in the south of France.

Vague: Vanessa Paradis attends the Chanel Fashion show Haute Couture spring summer 2012 held at Grand Palais in Paris
After talking publicly and vaguely yesterday about her relationship with one of Hollywood's biggest actors, Vanessa Paradis today attended the 2012 Chanel Haute-Couture Spring / Summer Show.
The French beauty looked great in a black leather jacket and white silk dress as she shined at the Paris Fashion Week show at Grand Palais in France.
The star showed no signs of hiding from the spotlight after her cryptic and vague message last night about her long term partner Johnny Depp.
Last night, after going solo at the premiere of her new movie Cafe de Flore in Paris, Vanessa refused to confirm whether or not she has split from Johnny.
The 39-year-old actress, who has two children with Depp, kept it incredibly vague when she was questioned about the reports on French radio station Europe 1.
She said: 'You know, when I eat three peas, I'm pregnant. When I visit a city, I'm buying a house.
'In the winter I separate, in the summer I marry. It's been fifteen years since I've been getting married every year. In addition I have to answer all these rumours!'

Snap happy: Paradis was the the centre of attention as she arrived at the show
So cryptic: Vanessa attended the Chanel show alone today and didn't mention Johnny Depp at all
There was no sign of Depp, who has been in a relationship with Paradis for the past 14 years, at the cinema in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or their two children, Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, nine, who are all believed to be in Los Angeles.
And reporters were instructed by one of her PRs 'not to ask personal questions' as she posed with co-star Marin Gerrier and director Jean-Marc Vallie at the premiere.
Paradis cut a lonely figure but held her head high as she posed up for photographers at the event, which came after weeks of rumours surrounding her relationship with Depp.
Trendy girl: Vanessa looked great ina white silk dress and a black leather jacket
It has been alleged that the pair have been 'living separate lives' and their relationship has been rocky for quite some time.
But Paradis has hinted at the strains of her relationship crisis while promoting her latest film, in which she plays a single mother.
The actress, who did not refer to Depp by name, claimed she didn’t believe in marriage or soulmates because ‘if you lose your soulmate everything is done for’.

Another glamorous look: Paradis arrived at the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 fashion show today wearing a floor-length white dress
She went on: ‘Cafe De Flore speaks of love, its joys, its pains and its dramas – to love and to lose. This story upset me, I was upside-down, in the depths of myself.’
She added: ‘The idea of a soulmate is beautiful and very romantic to talk about it in a movie or a song, but in reality, I find it scary.’
At last night's premiere, the petite star looked chic in menswear as she hustled down the red carpet.

Happy together? After 14 years together, Johnny Depp and partner Vanessa Paradis are said to be living separate lives
Co-stars: Vanessa posed for pictures with Marin Gerrier and director Jean-Marc Vallée
She appears to have lost weight, as normally tight-fitting red leather trousers hung loosely on her diminutive frame.
She added a black tuxedo jacket, four-inch heeled booties and a tie to finish the tough, chic look.
Her date to the event was her sister Alysson and Paradis briefly signed autographs outside the UGC Danton theatre before heading to the afterparty at nearby nightclub Chez Castel.
Today she made another public appearance, this time at Paris Fashion Week.

Keeping quite: Vanessa was happy to stop and sign autographs but didn't speak about her alleged split from Depp

He's all alone too: Vanessa's partner of 14 years, Johnny Depp, attended the Golden Globe Awards alone this month
The slender star glammed up to attend the French brand's haute-couture Spring/Summer 2012 show at the Grand Palais.
Wearing a floor-length silver grey dress with a black cut out jacket, the mother-of-two posed for the cameras as she supported the designer that she once modelled for.
Paradis is obviously taking a leaf out of her husband's book by attending events alone after he made a solo appearance at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month.

French actress Vanessa Paradis has spoken about feeling ‘in the depths of myself’ as her 14-year relationship with Hollywood star Johnny Depp is said to be on the brink of collapse.
Miss Paradis hinted at the strains on her in real life in interviews to promote her latest film.
The star, 39, who has two children with the Pirates Of The Caribbean star, was in Paris promoting Cafe De Flore, in which she plays a single mother.
The actress, who did not refer to Depp by name, claimed she didn’t believe in marriage or soulmates because ‘if you lose your soulmate everything is done for’.
On Thursday the star cut a despondent figure as she shopped for DVDs including The Seven Year Itch on the Champs Elysees.
She is staying with her family in Paris while Depp, 48, who made an appearance at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles last week, is believed to have moved into a 29-room castle in Hollywood.
According to a new report by the highly respected publication People magazine, their relationship has been rocky for quite some time.
It follows several reports that the pair's relationship is on the rocks.

Stand for one: Depp attended the Golden Globes all alone - fuelling rumours that there are problems in his relationship
Still going strong in 2010: The couple was spotted looking happy at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival in France
A source told Radar Online: 'Johnny isn't handling anything well right now.
'People around him are worried about how Johnny is doing because he and Vanessa seem so fractured right now. Their relationship is heading toward the end.'
The source claimed: 'Johnny has started reaching out to lawyers, probably to quietly discuss how to get out of the relationship.
'They're not married but they've been together for years and have kids together so it isn't as easy as just breaking up. Johhny is so talented at acting, but he doesn’t seem able to hide how badly things are going right now.'

Happy together? After 14 years together, Johnny Depp and partner Vanessa Paradis are said to be living separate lives
Johnny Depp and his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, are living 'separate lives', it has been claimed.
The French actress was nowhere to be seen as the Pirates of the Carribean star mingled with his A-list friends at the Golden Globes on Sunday night.
And now some insiders are saying that the long-term couple have already split up.
According to a new report by the highly respected publication People magazine, their relationship has been rocky for quite some time.
It follows several tabloid reports that the pair's relationship is on the rocks.
Although they show displays of unity at family functions for children Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, they are infrequently spotted together.
While both Johnny, 48, and Vanessa, 39, were in Paris last November, she opted out of attending the French premiere of his film, The Rum Diary.
Instead, People reports, she went to a concert, which one source notes was 'weird and pretty clear: You're in town and you don't go to the premiere of your husband's film? One which he starred in, produced?
She was also noticeably absent at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of his fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film in May.
Though they have both been staying in LA, it is believed they are living at different locations.
An insider tells the magazine that the two, who never married, may have been broken up for years.
'My sense is that this is a couple which hasn't existed for two years,' says the source.
Vanessa has remained at home in Los Angeles with their kids, who attend private school there, while Johnny gallivants around the world shooting movies.
While he was filming Pirates in Hawaii in 2010, he was often spotted drinking wine at local bars in and around Honolulu.
Still going strong in 2010: The couple was spotted looking happy at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival in France
'He would chat with girls and was very friendly and flirty,' a source tells the magazine.
Now Depp is flying off to shoot The Lone Ranger in Mexico while, once again, Vanessa remains at home in LA with the children.
The stony-faced French singer was spotted walking through the city's outdoor shopping mall, The Grove, on Friday - which meant she could have easily attended the Golden Globes as his date.
Though friends hope they can reconcile, it isn't looking likely for the once-wonderful couple.
Though he told the Daily Mail last October that when he first saw Paradis 'my life as a single man was over', their pals say their relationship is damaged beyond repair.
'They are both very attached to their children and things could work out,' a source tells the magazine, 'but they have both changed - a lot.'

Glum: Vanessa Paradis looked unhappy as she tool a stroll with her daughter Lily-Rose amid rumours she is splitting from Johnny Depp
Vanessa Paradis is facing rumours that her long term relationship with Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is heading for a split after 14 years together.
And the French singer looked incredibly glum as she went shopping at The Grove in West Hollywod with her tween daughter Lily-Rose on Friday.
With not a hint of a smile or a brush of makeup, the mother-of-two was almost unrecognisable from the beauty she was once known to be and she didn't seem happy.
Stony faced: The French actress gave her 12-year-old a cuddle but didn't raise a smile
Vanessa looked run down and wore ill fitting jeans, a baggy T-shirt and ballet flats.
It also looked like she hadn't spent any time on her hair as it fell around her
shoulders in loose unkempt curls.
She was accompanied by her 12-year-old who looked decidedly older than her tender years and wore a strapless black top paired with denim shorts and wedge shoes.
It's been reported that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is on the brink of a split because of the couple's constant bickering.
Rough patch: Rumours are circulating that Johnny Depp's 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis may end after, allegedly, hitting the rocks
'People around him are worried about how Johnny is doing because he and Vanessa seem so fractured right now,' a source told the RadarOnline celebrity website.
The unsubstantiated report appears to contradict the 48-year-old actor's claims in interviews about his enduring love for Paradis. They also have a nine-year-old son, Jack.
RadarOnline quoted a source close to the star as saying: 'Johnny isn't handling anything well right now.'
The site also suggested the Hollywood heartthrob is seeking legal advice over the alleged unravelling of the 14-year relationship.
Long-term: The couple, pictured here at the 2008 Academy Awards, have two children together
'Johnny has started reaching out to lawyers, probably to quietly discuss how to get out of the relationship.
'They're not married but they've been together for years and have kids together so it isn't as easy as just breaking up.
'Johnny is so talented at acting, but he doesn't seem able to hide how badly things are going right now,' the unnamed source added.
There were claims of problems in the relationship last April when a French magazine splashed a photo on its front page of Mr Depp appearing to kiss another woman.
The woman turned out to be the actor's publicist Robin Baum who reportedly attended the unveiling of Penelope Cruz's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with Mr Depp while Miss Paradis was at home in France with their children.
At the time, Voici magazine wrote: 'Are Johnny and Vanessa heading for a split?'
French beauty: The Joe Le Taxi singer and her family split their time between France, LA and the Bahamas
'Whenever Johnny and Vanessa are rumoured to be having relationship problems, it's Robin who as his press officer has to deny them.
'This woman is dangerous.'
France's 24heuresactu website said: 'Is Johnny cheating on Vanessa and splitting up one of the world's best-known celebrity couples?'
Miss Baum had not responded to a request for comment at time of going to press last night.
The actor was most recently spotted on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles with Miss Paradis, their two children and a woman believed to be his mother, Betty Sue.
Private people: The couple are famously coy about revealing details of their relationship, seen here in 2006
He was married briefly in the early Eighties to make-up artist Lori Anne Allison before his high-profile romances with actress Winona Ryder and supermodel Kate Moss.
But he has been with Miss Paradis since 1998, when they met on the set of the Roman Polanski thriller, The Ninth Gate.
Speaking about their first meeting in an interview last year, Mr Depp said: 'She was wearing a dress with an exposed back and I saw that back and that neck, and then she turned around and I saw those eyes, and - boom! - my life as a single man was done.
'You have this feeling,' he added. 'I can't really explain what it was, but I had it when I met her.
'I saw her across a room and thought: "What's happening to me?"'
He said the couple hadn't seen the need for marriage.
Greeting fans: The actor made faces at a baby at the European premiere of his film The Rum Diary
'I never found myself needing that piece of paper. Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart.
'You don't need somebody to say: "OK, you're married".
'She and I have been together for nearly 14 years, and, well, I can hardly believe it.
'It only seems like yesterday that we met.'
Of his own parents' broken marriage, he said: 'I recall hearing my parents argue and thinking: "Come on, this is torture. Just split!"
'They stuck it out until I was 15, but I'd seen it coming for years. When they finally did divorce, I thought: "OK, this is the right thing".'
The family divides its time between their home in Meudon in the Paris suburbs, Los Angeles, Le Plan-de-la-Tour in the south of France and an island in the Bahamas.

The 36-year-old who just recently welcome a son into the world, revealed her post-pregnancy curves in a stunning purple lace fitted dress as she addressed a crowd of fans in a ceremony outside the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
The outfit highlighted her curvaceous figure after giving birth to her son Leo Encinas Cruz just over two month ago.
Big moment: With her husband Jarvier Bardem watching from the crowd and her close friend and co-star Johnny Depp in tow, the actress posed in front of her star situated on the famous Hollywood strip
For the ceremony she let her golden-tipped brown locks flow naturally and slipped on a pair of sky-high Christian Louboutins.
With her husband Jarvier Bardem watching from the crowd, and her close friend and co-star Johnny Depp in tow, the actress posed in front of her star situated on the famous Hollywood strip.
Leaning down to touch the honourable plaque, the Spanish-born actress beamed with happiness.
Before the star was unveiled, Penelope took to the stage and gave a sentimental and gracious speech.
Proud: Johnny got up to the stage and said a few words about his co-star and friend
With a light humour, she credited her Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides co-star Johnny Depp as being the one who helped her learn English when she first moved to Los Angeles.
'I want to thank the man with the hat. Let me tell you about the man with the hat. I came to Los Angeles for the first time in 1994, I spoke no English. I only knew how to say two things, two sentences. One was, 'How are you?', the other one was, 'I want to work with Johnny Depp.
'In the last 10 years I have worked with him twice and that has improved my English, so now I know how to say, 'I want to work with Johnny Depp again!
Friends: The pair have known each other for 10 years and starred in two films together
'Thank you Johnny for your friendship, your friendship, your talent, you are such an inspiration to so many of us, always.'

It was her real-life husband Jarvier Bardem who played that role.
Penelope starred in her first English-language film The Hi-Lo Country in 1998.
She later starred in many acclaimed dramas including Vanilla Sky, Blow, Captain Corelli's Mandolin and many others.

Shadow of his former self: Former My Name Is Earl actor Ethan Suplee lost a staggering 200 pounds, seen here on the red carpet for his film Unstoppable in October 2010 , left, and in April 2002, right
Former My Name Is Earl star has quietly lost a staggering 200lbs over the last 11 years.
And with no fad diets or surgeries in sight many have wondered how he did it.
But now the 34-year-old actor, who is a shadow of his former self, has revealed his weight loss secret.
The American actor said that he simply hops on his bicycle.
'I ride road bikes,' he told TMZ. 'I wear Spandex and everything.'
Suplee's gradual weight loss has been apparent for several years, but when he stepped on the red-carpet last October to promote his film Unstoppable, there was no denying there had been of a significant transformation.
Swapping the baggy tracksuits of old for a slimline pinstripe suit, he looked incredible.
Thumb's up: The 34-year-old lost the weight over 11 years by riding his bicycle
His decision to lose the weight spawned from a bet he made with director Kevin Smith that he would lose more weight than him in 10 years after filming comedy hit Mallrats.
Ethan won the bet.
The funny man got his first big break into acting when he landed a role in Smith's black comedy, alongside his fellow My Name is Earl cast mate, Jason Lee.
He then went on to appear in two more Smith films, Chasing Amy and Dogma.
Funny man: In My Name Is Earl he played Earl's younger brother Randy Hicky alongside actor Jason Lee
The New York born actor has also starred in American History X, Remember The Titans, and Boy Meets World, and played Johnny Depp's drug dealing partner and pal Tuna in the hit film, Blow.
In My Name Is Earl he played Earl's younger brother Randy Hicky.
The show also starred actress Jaime Pressly who played Joy, the trailer trash ex-wife of the main character Earl.
The television comedy ended in May 2009 after running for four seasons.
