Emotional: Lucy Mecklenburgh cries as she reads emails on boyfriend Mario Falcone's iPad in last night's episode of The Only Way Is Essex

First Amy Childs and Kirk Norcross... then him and Lauren Pope (twice)... and we've all lost count the amount of times Mark Wright and Lauren Goodger and James 'Arg' Argent and Lydia Bright have split up.

But now it looks like The Only Way Is Essex couples' curse may have extended to Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh.

The pretty brunette, 20, was seen breaking down in tears in last night's episode of TOWIE after reading sexy emails from 'at least 40' other women on her boyfriend's iPad.

Now who's been naughty? Mario Falcone abruptly left the poker game after a text from Lucy suggests he's been found out

The episode started with the tailor telling his father Mario Snr he just couldn't forget Lucy cheating on him with her ex Mark Wright last September.

Although Lucy insists she woke up in Mark's bed with her clothes on, she claims she was 'too drunk' to remember what happened.

After denying the whole incident for two months, Lucy confessed to Mario in November and they briefly split.

Advice: Mario tells his father Mario Snr he can't stop thinking about Lucy with Mark Wright

But it appears just two months down the line, Mario can't get over Lucy's betrayal.

He told his dad: 'Every day I can't stop thinking about Mark and Lucy.

'I still love her and I wanna be with her, but I can't be with her...'

Mario Snr told his son: 'It's not the cheating, its the lying to everyone for two months. if you can't trust her, then its pointless.'

Confused: Mario says he's in love with Lucy but can't trust her

Mario Jnr went on to complain: 'She said she'll spend the rest of her life making it up to me. But she's done nothing.

'I'm always paying for everything, taking her out to dinner. She doesn't even say thank you.'

Clearly not too bothered about Lucy, Mario Snr added: 'You're a young good looking boy. Don't waste your time.

Meanwhile, while Lydia pre-occupied with her split from Arg, Lucy decided to confide in Billi Mucklow and Cara Kilbey over her fears about her relationship.

What do I do? Lucy asks Billi Mucklow and Cara Kilbey for advice about her rocky relationship with Mario

She said: 'He's got a split personality. We're all happy and he suddenly changes. I wanna know what's going through his head.'

She admitted she had asked to look at his phone and he said no, so she was concerned he had something to hide.

Lucy added: 'He'll take his phone to the shower, to the toilet, he'll never leave it near me.'

Later on, with Mario joining Chloe Sims, Gemma Collins, Mick Norcross, Joey Essex and his sister Frankie for a game of poker, Lucy was alone in his flat and couldn't resist a look at his iPad.

What the hell? Lucy is stunned by what she is reading

It wasn't long before the tearful fashion designer was back at Billi and Cara's in tears admitting she had found tons of messages from her boyfriend to other women.

She said: 'There's tons of emails to different girls, 40 different girls.

'I'm sitting there like a mug and he's sitting there with his iPad that I f**king bought him messaging these girls.

'Some of them are him asking them to send naked photos. One of them is to a girl on Christmas Day when I was lying with him cuddling him.'

I can't believe it: Lucy asks Cara and Billi for advice

Secrets: Cara (right) admits Mario has been texting her too

Away from Lucy in the kitchen, it appeared Cara was also one of the women Mario had been contacting.

She told Billi: 'What am I gonna do about these texts? I wanna tell her, but I don't think today is the right time. He's a proper p***k isn't he?'

Later back at home, Lucy sent Mario a text saying: 'Its good to see you put your iPad to good use.'

It'll all come out in the wash: Angry Lucy texts away

At the poker, Mario reads his text, then suddenly takes off his hat and glasses and abruptly leaves, leaving his fellow players stunned.

Turning up at Lucy's house, Mario pleads to be let in so he can speak to her, but a devastated Lucy isn't having any of it.

She opens the blinds to see him through the window and shakes her head when he asks to speak to her, before shutting them again.

Who's winning? Mario left his girlfriend at home to play poker with Frankie, Chloe, Diags, Joey, Mick and Gemma

Meanwhile, Arg is struggling to come to terms with his split from Lydia in Sunday's episode and feels abandoned by his friends.

He ends up in the pub for a heart-to-heart with Sam Faiers, who advises him to give Lydia some space.

While leaving the pub, he bumps into Lauren Goodger and Lauren Pope and confronts the former about butting into his relationship when he turned up at Lydia's 21st birthday dinner on Sunday's episode.

He said: 'I think you were out of order.'

'Stop suffocating her': Lauren G tells Arg to leave Lydia alone

When Lauren G protested: 'I've 100 per cent been there for you,' Arg interjected: 'you haven't been there. Lydia's got her mother and her friends. I've got no one.'

Lauren G told him to 'stop suffocating her', adding: 'You're not giving her space.

I'm there for you. I'm not ganging up on you. Man up, I'm there for both of you.'

However, an indignant Arg told Lauren G she couldn't be friends with them both and told her to stick with Lydia: 'I'll do my own thing.'

It's all kicking off: Sam and Billie Faiers argue over their workload in the shop

And it appeared Arg and Lauren G weren't the only ones arguing - Sam and her older sister Billie were also clashing over their work in their boutique Minnie's.

Sam told her sister: 'Sometimes I feel that you don't wanna work here as much as you should.'

Clearly defensive, Billie hit back: 'My job role is to go buying, work every weekend. When was the last time you went buying?'

Sam complained: 'You just come here, choose an outfit for tonight and go home... You look like you're from the zoo in that oufit.'

Billie bit back: 'Well you look like you're from Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.'
