New mother: Michelle Heaton, who looked ready to pop at the OK! Christmas party, has just given birth to daughter Faith
Michelle Heaton has given birth to her first child; a baby girl called Faith.
Husband Hugh Hanley proudly posted a message on Twitter today, revealing they welcomed their new addition to the family yesterday.
He gushed that the 'circle of life is amazing', while telling fans they had decided to call their first child together Faith Michelle Hanley.
Writing on the social networking site, the Irish businessman wrote: 'My beautiful wife @wonderwomanshel gave birth to our gorgeous baby girl 'Faith Michelle Hanley' yesterday morning. Circle of life is amazing.'
Despite playing doting mother to her newborn, the Liberty X star found time to retweet the message to her 60,000 followers.
Michelle, 31, was married once before to Andy Scott-Lee for two years; but the pair split in June 2008 without ever having children.
Proud father: Hugh couldn't wait to share the news
Later that year she met Hugh and last July they said 'I do' in the Bahamas.
Michelle's good friend Katie Price will be Faith's godmother; after she was asked to fulfill the special role last month at the baby shower.
Mother-of-three Katie took to her Twitter page to say: 'I'm sooooo happy and over the moon that @wonderwomanshel and @hughhanley have asked me to be a godmother to there (sic) baby. Woo forever friends.'
Heaton has kept a low profile over the festive period, with her last public venture to the OK! Christmas party at the end of November.
Expecting: Michelle tenderly puts a hand on her stomach as she attended the Real Steel premiere last September with Hugh
At the time, the expectant mother revealed she had stopped off for some fast food on the way home and her bump thought it meant 'play time'.
She said: 'Right! Night all! Tucked up in bed, little girl needs to recognise when it's bed time though.... She thinks the big mac meant play time! Lol.'
But it hasn't all been a bed of roses for Michelle, who confessed she felt 'uncomfortable' in her own skin and would 'cry about petty things'.
Speaking of the pregnancy, the brunette beauty admitted: 'I went through a period four months when I felt really uncomfortable in my own skin and would cry about petty things.
Marital bliss: Michelle and Hugh said 'I do' in the Bahamas last July
'Not being able to get my jeans past my thighs was excruciating, but now I feel more womanly than ever.
'I feel maternal and, when the baby moves, I get a real sense of achievement rather than getting hung up about my weight.'
Michelle recently caused controversy after saying she couldn't wait to have regular Botox injections again immediately following the birth.
She also spoke openly about being a 'high-risk pregnancy' after dabbling with diet pills in her 20s and taking Ephedrine.
Heaton said: 'I have an irregular heartbeat, I have an extra heart beat that makes the heart pause, I get palpitations daily, I suffer from anxiety attacks, I get heart blocks which can cause heart attacks.'
