On the first day of filming On The Road she had to strip off.

And by the looks of things tonight Kristen Stewart certainly doesn't have any problem flashing a little too much flesh these days.

The 22-year-old actress stepped out onto the red carpet in a dramatic dress with a very plunging neckline.

She's not shy about flashing some flesh! Kristen Stewart showed off plenty of cleavage in a plunging red dress as she stepped out at the premiere of Cosmopolis in Cannes tonight

Kristen had opted for a fiery red hue which certainly made an impact as she arrived at the premiere of Cosmopolis.

But the actress very nearly suffered a wardrobe malfunction as the dress gaped around the neckline extremely nearly showed off her entire breast.

Kristen's dress not only dipped down to her naval but the back also had slashes of lace paneling which made for an extremely seductive look.

He's my date: Kristen took the red carpet with her On The Road co-star and her boyfriend's best friend Tom Sturridge

Hair scare: Tom sported his hair piled up on top of his head, which looked very messy

Instead Kristen took to the carpet with her own On The Road co-star Tom Sturridge and the pair were seen looking very friendly sharing a warm hug as photographers snapped away.

Tom, who is currently expecting his first child with girlfriend Sienna Miller, is best friend's with Pattinson and so it's no surprise him and Kristen get on so well.

Working her magic: Despite normally hating the cameras Kristen appeared to enjoy herself posing up on the red carpet

Still Robert must have been wishing he was able to escort his girlfriend into the screening given her sensational appearance.

Cosmopolis, which is based on Don DeLillo's novel of the same name, tells the story of millionaire Eric Parker who is travelling across the New York to get a haircut but his trip goes anything but smoothly.

In the trailer for the film the actor is seen stripping off and enjoying a romp with several women and is seen reliving himself in his limo.

Juliette, was instead the lucky lady that got to stay close to Robert on the red carpet as they posed for photographs with writer Don, and director of the film David Cronenberg.

Juliette looked stunning in a strapless black dress that was volumised at the bottom.

Emily, on the other hand, stuck to playing it safe and wore a high-neck Edition by Georges Chakra black number with red lipstick and statement earrings.

The actresses' could have come close to seeing Robert naked after it was revealed he apparently refused to strip off completely for the film.

Although the Twilight star is a huge fan of David's, he is said to have turned down a request from the director.

Drawing the line: Robert is said to have refused to go completely naked in the film

Robert is quoted by Metro France as saying: 'Five minutes before we filmed, David told me, "I want to see the bottom of your balls on the top of the frame." At the moment, I reminded myself that I would do anything for him. So I went back to see him and told him that wouldn't happen.

'He took it really well. At the start, it's a very bizarre scene that you won't see again in another movie, I promise.'

However, despite fulfilling his role, Robert also admitted that he thought he wouldn't be good enough for the part, saying: 'I spent two weeks in a hotel room worrying and confusing myself.'

Hot topic: Aishwarya Rai looked stunning in her dusty blue dress, defying critics who blasted her over her figure

Model behaviour: Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Aimee Mullins and Anja Rubik all chose to wear black to the premiere

But as he posed on the red carpet tonight, Robert looked anything but worried and was met by hoards of screaming fans, and perhaps even celebrity guests who wanted to catch a glimpse of him.

However, although he is best-loved for his work in the vampire films, Robert has admitted he is looking forward to saying goodbye to the Twilight Saga.

Speaking to Shortlist, he said: 'Playing the same part for a while, you just run out of ideas. You feel kind of useless, you don’t know what to do anymore.

'I’m not trying to get away from it,' he added. 'You’re screwing yourself, you’re saying you think your work is sh*t if you try and get away from it. And I never thought it was. But I kind of got to the end of my inspiration. You get to the point where you’re like, "I don’t want to do a film for a teen audience any more."'

Colourful ladies: Natasha Poly, Lily Donaldson and Julianna Margulies all wore bright gowns

In fact, Robert is so determined to continue his more mature career, that he would even consider playing James Bond in ten years time.

'Yeah definitely,' the heartthrob revealed 'but more like 20 years. I think there’d be nothing worse than, like, "Let’s get a fresh-faced Bond!"

'That would be the worst idea in the world. After Daniel Craig, you have to have some baggage. It would be ridiculous to reinvent [him] as some young posh kid. Or, if [he] was, I’d have to get so tortured in the first few scenes. I’d have to do the first film with one arm or something.'

The full interview with Robert will appear in next week's issue of Shortlist and Cosmopolis will be released in UK cinemas on June 15.
