Posh boots: Victoria Beckham looked elegant in a clinging, slim fitting belted dress and peep toe boots at a Great British Film Reception at the British Consul Residence in Los Angeles earlier today
With her clinging moss coloured belted dress and knee high leather boots, Victoria Beckham was the picture of elegance at a British pre-Oscars bash in Los Angeles yesterday.
The 37-year-old fashion designer showed off her good taste in the high necked over-the-knee number as she posed on the red carpet.
And she teamed her outfit with some rather unusual peep toed boots which she wore underneath her dress.
She wore her hair in a long curled style and at one point turned around to reveal the backless features of the dress as she autographed a wall full of famous signatures.
A gold zip detail and split at the back completed the eye-catching outfit which comes from the autumn/winter 2012 collection she just showed in New York.
The star rubbed shoulders with the British Oscar nominees including Gary Oldman and Kenneth Branagh at the bash, which took place at the British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay’s residence.
In fact the former Spice Girl seemed to be getting on famously with Branagh, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance as Sir Laurence Olivier in My Week With Marilyn.
The writing's on the wall: Victoria autographed a wall of famous signatures, giving onlookers a glimpse of the back split of her dress
Flying the flag: The classy dress showed off the former Spice Girl's slim and trim figure, just seven months after giving birth to baby Harper
Branagh, wearing a bright blue suit and matching tie, smiled broadly for a picture with Victoria, who mustered her usual pout.
The pair also posed for a group photograph with Oldman, Dame Barbara and Jeremy Hunt, British Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport.
Oldman, 53, nominated for Best actor for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, arrived with his stunning wife Alexandra Edenborough who wore a high necked black dress with shoulder slits.
Rubbing shoulders: Victoria mustered a smile as she posed in the mansion grounds with Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh
Strike a pose: Fiona Shaw, British MP Jeremy Hunt, Branagh, Beckham, Gary Oldman and Dame Barbara Hay got together for a group shot
Oldman is not a favourite in the Best Actor category, with the award expected to go to George Clooney for The Descendents or Jean DuJardin for The Artist at Sunday's ceremony in Hollywood.
Branagh was joined by Canadian actor Christopher Plummer at yesterday's event.
The veteran star is the favourite to win Best Supporting Actor for his film The Beginners.
Flying the flag: Beckham has always been proud of the British roots
Smoky eyes: The mother-of-four looked slightly tired at the event
Black tie: Oscar nominee Gary Oldman arrived with his stunning wife Alexandra Edenborough for the annual event in Los Angeles
Meet and greet: Dame Barbara met the stars, including Oldman and Edenborough who looked stunning in a high necked black dress with shoulder slits
Favourite: Christopher Plummer, with Dame Barbara at today's event, is favourite to win the award for Best Supporting Actor on Sunday's ceremony
British actress Sophie Winkleman added to the glamorous contingent in a striking black and white striped dress on the red carpet.
Sophie, famous for her role in British TV comedy Peep Show, is married to British royal Lord Freddie Windsor who was also at the annual event.
