Sad: Nick Cannon has spoken of his disappointment surrounding a tabloid scam involving his wife Mariah Carey on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight last night
Nick Cannon has revealed his anger about false tabloid reports involving his wife Mariah Carey.
Child Protective Services were called following reports of 'drinking and drugs' going on in the couple's hospital room following the birth of the their twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30.
Speaking out on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, the 30-year-old said the incident began after a nurse told Mariah about a traditional method of improving the yeast in breast milk.
'It all started where a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness or a small amount of Guinness, the dark beer, that the yeast improves breastfeeding,' he said.
'Then they were saying that my wife was drinking beer and all that stuff. It’s like people would do anything to conjure up a story.'
He said once he spoke to the Child Protective Services explaining that the comment was clearly taken out of context, all was resolved.
'When I spoke to the person for the CPS they said this is ridiculous,' he said.
He said that the negative press surrounding the twins birth was disappointing.
'Man it is more than one incident. There have been photographers posing as many people in the hospital,' he said.

'It is (frustrating), but you got to have to understand this is something you have to deal with. It is sad that people have to go to those lengths. '
One thing that will no doubt cheer Mariah up from the fracas is the lavish Mother's Day gift that Nick recently splurged on for his wife.
Days after their twins were born, Nick treated his wife to a four-carat diamond and sapphire necklace spelling out their namesakes from up-scale jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills.
'Nick was really excited about the babies’ names and wanted to do a piece with them for Mariah’s first Mother’s Day,' Jason Arasheben revealed to People magazine.
'Pink sapphires are bright and bold and diamonds are always so classic.'
The $12,000 necklace also features white and rose gold.
Happy: Mariah gave birth to the couple twins at the end of last month
'Nick came in and met with Jason on the Friday after his twins were born,' a source told People.
'He was bleary eyed, looking so tired but so happy — all smiles, saying he wanted to design something special for Mariah’s first Mother’s day.
'He couldn’t want to surprise her on Sunday.'
Mariah and Nick's twins Moroccan and Monroe were born on the 30th of April, the couple's wedding day.
The unusual monikers of the children have sentimental value to the couple, who renewed their marriage vows on the same day the children were born.
The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor, and it is the room where Nick proposed to his wife.
Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.
Their daughter was named after Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.

Mariah has long cited the Fifties actress as an inspiration and she even owns the late star's white piano.
They decided not give their daughter a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.
Spokesperson Cindi Berger told CNN: 'It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.'
Earlier this week, Mariah took to Twitter to stir up a guessing game about the names.
The proud pop diva hinted that both names begin with the letter 'M' and is urged her followers to submit their theories.
It is not known if any fans guessed correctly.
Doting dad: Nick was spotted various times following the birth visiting his wife
Details of the birth emerged quickly after the twins were born.
It transpired that Nick had flown into a blind panic while rushing his wife to hospital as she gave birth.
So much so, the America's Got Talent presenter got lost and drove to the wrong department before a nurse gave him directions.
Mariah was in a far calmer state, believing she was just having another false alarm.
Mariah's rep Berger confirmed the twins' arrival - a girl and a boy - saying the superstar delivered at 12:07 pm EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles.
Berger said the baby girl was born first, weighing 5lbs 3oz and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5lbs 6oz and was 19 inches.
Nick drove Carey to the hospital in their Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Berger said the couple were listening to Mariah's We Belong Together after the children were born.
Nick tweeted in the day: 'My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!'
The couple got married in 2008 after a whirlwind romance.
Sweet tweet: Nick tweeted his excitement the day the twins were born
They were the subject of endless baby rumours, and the couple actually were expecting shortly after their marriage.
However Mariah had a miscarriage - they did not reveal the miscarriage until she announced her pregnancy last autumn.
The couple plan to live a bi-coastal life, and have luxurious nurseries in both New York and Los Angeles.
