Hot to trot: Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning as she left a restaurant in New York earlier today so it wasn't a surprise to see she caught the attention of passers-by

They say some women have the ability to stop traffic with their good looks.

And today Gwyneth Paltrow literally stopped a man in the street with her gorgeous and glamorous appearance in New York today.

The actress, 39, left her male admirer craning his neck and gawping as he walked past her today.

Gwyneth was leaving a restaurant in New York’s Greenwich Village when she caught the eye of the pedestrian and it’s no surprise given her chic ensemble.

The mother-of-two showed off her flawless figure in a tight grey suit, which boasted a provocative thigh-high split, and a pair of black stilettos.

It appears Gwyneth ordered more than she could finish and she was seen carrying a bag of leftovers as she exited the eatery.

Later in the day the actress was seen out and about again in the Big Apple but had made a quick wardrobe change.

For her evening's activities Gwyneth had slipped into a pair of cropped dark jeans and a white jacket.

She had placed a series of necklaces over her white blouse and added a flash of colour with some bright blue heels.

Gwyneth’s new film The Avengers hits theatres next month on May 4 and she will also be appearing in Lifetime’s new series The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet which airs tomorrow.
