Prince William's in-laws Michael and Carole Middleton look the height of elegance as they attend Venezuela Viva in London last night


Their daughters are hailed as fashion icons and photographed everywhere they go, but it seems the Middleton parents can give Kate and Pippa a run for their money in the style stakes.

Michael and Carole Middleton looked smart but stylish on a night out in London, attending a gala performance of Venezuela Viva.

The Duchess of Cambridge's mother Carole, 56, was dressed in a black dress and heels and white jacket by Catherine Walker, showing off her toned legs.


Kate's father opted for the suited look with a blue shirt and red tie, adding a pop of colour.

The couple usually keep a low-profile, despite the international spotlight being on their family as eldest daughter Catherine married Prince William in April 2011.

Since then, their middle child, Pippa, has also enjoyed worldwide fame, dubbed 'Her Royal Hotness', after her turn as Royal Maid of Honour at her sister's wedding.

However last night it was the turn of the Middleton parents to enjoy the spotlight and they both looked very much at ease being photographed at the dance event in aid of the British Red Cross.

Carole's daughters Catherine and Pippa are big sports fan and exercise everyday, but their 56-year-old mother is also in remarkable shape
