Newlyweds: Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz were spotted at New York's JFK Airport for the first time since their surprise wedding last month

They stunned fans last month when they announced they had married in secret.

But Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz looked more than happy to show off their love for each other as they were spotted at New York's JFK Airport for the first time since their surprise nuptials.

The newlyweds both opted for casual outfits in jeans and jackets as they strolled through the airport hand-in-hand, with James Bond actor Craig attempting to go incognito in sunglasses and a grey flat cap.

Weisz, however, went without sunglasses as she held tightly to her new husband's hand.

The Mummy actress wed the actor last month in a surprise whirlwind ceremony attended by just four people.

The guests were said to be Daniel's 18-year-old daughter Ella and Rachel's son Henry, four, plus two family friends who acted as witnesses.

The whole event, which apparently was followed by a quiet meal and an early night, was carried out amid the sort of secrecy of which 007 himself would no doubt have been proud.

The pair, who have been friends for years, were first romantically linked in November after filming the upcoming horror, The Dream House.

They strenuously denied rumours at the time however, but it became clear that they were definitely an item when they were then seen hand-in-hand as they celebrated Christmas in Somerset.

Before they got together, Rachel was a relationship with Black Swan director Darren Aronovsky for nine years and Daniel had been engaged to longterm girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell for five years.

Craig will take on the role of suave secret agent James Bond for the third time in the as-yet-untitled 23rd movie, which will be released in October next year.

He is also gearing up for the release of the Hollywood remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Weisz, who won an Oscar in 2005 for The Constant Gardener, has several projects in the pipeline, including the drama romance, 360.
