She may have missed the US premiere of her film debut but Cheryl Cole made the most of her time to shine on the red carpet tonight.

The British singer joined her co-star Cameron Diaz at the London premiere of her film What to Expect When You're Expecting and the pair made a dazzling entrance ahead of the screening.

Cheryl, 28, stepped out in a gorgeous peach and white gown by Victoria Beckham.

The dropped waist of the dress met with a pleated skirt, highlighting Cheryl's impressive figure, while the cut-out detail around the top, and thin straps at the back, flashed just the right amount of skin.

The singer had her hair pulled up into loose pony tail and she had donned jewellery by Garrard including diamond and sapphire earrings a rose quartz ring and a diamond ring.

Cameron, 39, appeared to complement her co-star with a similar colour palette donning a strapless beige jumpsuit.

While Cameron might be one of Hollywood's hottest stars Cheryl, who only has a cameo in the film outshone her on home turf.

She told reporters: 'She can do whatever she wants to do.'

'She is clearly talented and so lovely. I think this performance is the beginning of many for her.'

Cameron added: 'She really did us a huge favour by coming in and letting us sequester her for a couple of days and take her out to an old abandoned warehouse in Atlanta and make her act for us.'

The former X Factor judge star aptly plays a TV talent show judge but it is only a very small part in the film.

The 28-year-old star appears in the comedy’s opening scene as Miss Diaz’s character attempts to audition for a dancing competition.

And Mrs Cole also appears in another short scene later in the film.

The pop star is perfectly suited to the role having appeared as a judge on the X Factor alongside Simon Cowell.

Cheryl however suffered humiliation when she was dumped by producers on the US version of the show – but she filmed her role in the movie just weeks later.

Her co-star Glee star Matthew Morrison, who plays Diaz's dancer boyfriend in the film, said Cheryl should not have been sacked from The X Factor.

He said: 'Going on how she was a judge on our show, I thought she was great. They had her ad lib a lot and she just came up with all these great lines. So I think they got it wrong.'

The comedy follows five couples struggling to reconcile their hectic lives with impending parenthood.

Multi-millionaire singer Jennifer Lopez, who was last week crowned the world’s most powerful celebrity, also features in the film’s A-list cast but she did not attend tonight's screening.

What To Expect When You're Expecting is released in cinemas on Friday May 25.
