Amanda Bynes kept her head down as she left the police station this morning following her arrest in the early hours on suspicion of drink driving.

The 26-year-old former Nickelodeon star made no comment when quizzed by reporters outside - but let her legs do the talking instead as she revealed her pins in a short skirt.

The actress, accompanied by a friend, got into the passenger seat of a car before being driven off.

According to her booking sheet, Bynes was arrested at 3am and taken to West Hollywood sheriff's station.

She was busted as she was attempting to pass a cop car in Hollywood and sideswiped the vehicle, TMZ reports.

She was reportedly pulled over by officers who determined she was not fit to be behind the wheel.

According to her booking sheet, Bynes is 5'7" and 125 lbs.

Her bail has been set at $5,000 and she is seen in her mugshot with pink hair and sporting heavy eye make-up.

Bynes shot to fame as a child star on All That and The Amanda Show on children's channel Nickelodeon.

She later appeared on the big screen in several teen films including What a Girl Wants, Love Wrecked, She's the Man, Hairspray, Sydney White and most recently alongside Emma Stone in Easy A.

It's not the first time the actress has been in trouble with the law.

On March 7 the actress was pulled over for allegedly talking on her phone before bolting from the scene before the police finished issuing her a ticket.

She was not arrested - but later visited a police station to sign her ticket.

The day before, Bynes had tweeted: 'Live fast die young bad girls do it well!'
