Attack: A policeman guards Lauren Goodger's new salon which was reportedly petrol bombed

TOWIE star Lauren Goodger's salon has been petrol bombed less than 24 hours after its launch.

Thugs set alight to the salon and smashed windows just hours after the TOWIE star signed autographs outside the glitzy salon.

Police are still standing guard outside Lauren's Way, which had not had any costumers before the attack, this morning after it caught alight just after 10pm.

Rolling the red carpet: Loyal fans gathered outside the shop before the opening

Lauren has avoided Twitter since the incident, with her last tweets thanking fans for visiting the salon.

She wrote: 'Ahh just met the sweetest girl she cried on me 2nd girl who has cried on me 2day.. Makes me want 2 cry! So kind of you glad I inspire u x x'

Goodger is the latest face of the ITV2 show to come under a attack, with Billie and Sam Faiers becoming embroiled in a vicious attack last October following a drunken night out.

Attacked: Last night the windows of the salon, which never opened, remained boarded up

Leaving: Just hours after Lauren left her launch thugs set her salon alight

Target? The shop next to Lauren's remain intact after last night's attack

An Essex Police spokesman told the MailOnline the arson attack caused minimal damage to the salon yesterday but police officers were still standing guard outside the area in Buckhurst HIll.

He added people living in the flats above Goodger's new venture were forced to be evacuated from their homes after the attack.

It is not clear if they have been allowed back.

Officers confirmed it was the only arson attack in the area and added investigations were continuing.

Yesterday, Lauren arrived at her salon launch in Buckhurst Hill to find photographers assembled before she had been primped and preened for the cameras.

The 24-year-old, who had wet hair and was make-up free, covered her face and dashed past the crowd of waiting fans into the store.

Despite some eager fans waiting for over three hours for a glimpse of Lauren, the reality star insisted on having her hair and make-up perfect before venturing out again.

She tweeted from inside: 'In my salon sorry for everyone queing (sic) outside won't be long guys and we can all do pictures and signings x x x'

Ready for my close-up! The TOWIE star emerged later and happily posed for photographers

Once ready, Lauren emerged again and happily posed up a storm for photographers.

She looked great despite revealing on Twitter that she has been suffering with the flu all week, and feared that she wouldn't be able to make it to the salon opening.

Perhaps feeling under the weather was her reason for not wanting to be photographed au natural, although venturing out in the winter cold with damp locks hair probably wasn't her wisest move.

She was joined by her co-stars Frankie Essex, along with Chloe Sims and her daughter Madison, who came down to show their support.

Unlike Lauren though, Chloe and Frankie were fine with photographers capturing them looking far more natural than usual.

Chloe and her daughter turned up in matching pink outfits, with the mother-of-one in a tracksuit from Katie Price's Day 22 range, and the pair sporting identical pink trainers with leopard-print bows.

Frankie wore skinny jeans, ankle boots and a black fur vest, while Lauren wore a bright blue dress with a leather jacket and white scarf.

Goodger's new salon was opened to the public after appearing on the ITV2 show last week.

Named Lauren's Way after her line of tanning products, the salon offers spray tans, blow dry and hair extensions, teeth whitening and HD brows.
