Wasn't up to scratch: Daniel Craig, pictured filming in London earlier this week, is said to have complained that a Four Seasons hotel gym was too dirty for him to change in

He's the ultimate suave super spy, so naturally James Bond is used to the very best treatment.

And it appears the actor who plays him shares 007's high standards.

Daniel Craig reportedly refused to get into costume to film a swimming-pool scene in a London hotel because his surroundings were 'too dirty'.

The actor was shooting his third Bond movie Skyfall at the Four Seasons hotel.

'The gym is one of the best in London and usually very clean,' the Daily Star quoted one gym worker as saying.

'But it wasn't up to scratch for Daniel Craig.'

'He said it was 'dirty and untidy' and refused to get into costume until it was cleaned,' the source added.

In action again: This is Daniel Craig's third Bond film, and is due to come out next year

Daniel was spotted filming for the upcoming film in London earlier this week.

He has been joined by 28 Days Later star Naomie Harris for Skyfall, the 23rd film of the Bond franchise.

Naomi plays the part of Eve - a field agent who joins Bond on his quest to track down whoever is threatening the MI6.

The actress was thought to be taking on the role of Miss Moneypenny when the film was first announced, but speculation was laid to rest once her character's name was revealed.

At a recent press release, Harris described Eve as 'believing she is Bond's equal, but she is really his junior.'

Another female character who Bond has issues with in the latest film is M, who will once again be played by Dame Judi Dench.

The head of MI6 sees her past come back to haunt her in this movie which results in Bond's loyalty with her being put to the test.

The film also stars Javier Bardem as the main villain - and no doubt the ultimate threat to MI6- and Ralph Fiennes is set to play a 'really interesting' character, which not much has been revealed about.

Ever the perfectionist, Daniel is as quick to level criticism at himself as he is others.

'I'm definitely not satisfied about my career. I don't know how you can be; it's the very nature of things,' he told GQ magazine.

'I'm always trying to figure it out and I'm kind of unsatisfied constantly. I always want to get it right and I don't know what the answer to it is.'

Daniel confessed that he still finds it hard to believe that he was handed the role of the iconic secret agent, and that he is 'not quite sure how' he has been such a success as Bond.

Skyfall is set to be released some time between late October and early December next year.
