Clinging to Louis for dear life! Tulisa Contostavlos struggled her way onto the Wembley stage tonight in a mermaid-style dress


Jaws dropped last night when Tulisa stepped onto the Wembley stage for the first half of the X Factor final 2011.

Sporting a gigantic scallop-shaped skirt, the 23-year-old could barely cram herself behind the judging panel.

And tonight she struggled onto the stage in a full-length mermaid-style creation so tight at the top of her legs that she could hardly walk.

As the X Factor judges were introduced to the stage Tulisa surprised viewers once more with her dangerous outfit choice.

The N-Dubz star wore a long blue dress by Fyodor Golan, London Fashion Week's 2011 'Fashion Fringe Award' winners.

The ensemble made quite a contrast to yesterday's choice, a short polka-dot creation part covered in netting.

Tulisa was at least safe from any wardrobe malfunctions, as last night her knickers kept flashing up when her short dress rode high at the front.

Tulisa again required Louis Walsh to come to her aid however, as she clung rather tightly to his arm during their short walk to the judges panel.

She made it safely there however, where it was doubtless a relief to be seated during Marcus and Little Mix's first performances of the night.

The flamenco style dress needed the assistance of Louis Walsh as he joined the fight to restrain it from embarrassing Tulisa further.

Her shorter dress received negative feedback from fans on Twitter with one user saying it looked like 'Tulisa wore a vile Viennetta.'

Rival judge Kelly Rowland chose a goddess-like gold dress with a short skirt and long train at the back for her final judging appearance this series.

Gary Barlow kept things classic with a black suit and white shirt, while Louis opted for a dark shirt and burgundy jacket.

Last night Tulisa returned to the spotlight to duet with her group Little Mix.

The mentor was able to get out of her difficult dress for a short-while at least as she belted out a mash up of Empire State Of Mind and If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys.

Made it there in the end: It must have been a relief to Tulisa to reach the panel safely


She wore a short black dress with large shoulders and looked to be enjoying the chance to be part of a female group for a change.

Tulisa's 'little muffins' were mostly in tune but were slightly overshadowed by the judges' strong vocals.

After the performance Little Mix member Jade said: 'We wouldn’t have wanted to do a duet with anyone else. This has been the most amazing day of our lives and we couldn’t have done it without Tulisa.'
