Lessons in style: Supermodel Linda Evangelista walks son Augustin to school in New York city today
She once said that she wouldn't 'get out of bed for less than $10,000.'
And supermodel Linda Evangelista certainly looked like a million bucks today as she picked up her five-year-old son Augustin from school in New York City today.
Evangelista, 46, raised the stakes on the school run looking impeccable in designer sunglasses, a black velvet jacket, kilt and knee high boots.
But the statuesque beauty has been in the headlines for somewhat different reasons.
Back in July, The New York Post reported that the father of Evangelista's child was billionaire Frenchman and actress Salma Hayek's husband François-Henri Pinault.
The following month, Evangelista appeared in Manhattan Family Court, seeking $46,000 in monthly child support from Pinault for Augustin
The judge in the case went on record as saying: 'That would probably be the largest support order in the history of the Family Court.'
While Evangelista's child support request may seem rather large, Pinault's income in 2010 was reported to be roughly $5.2 million and his family is worth an estimated $11.5 billion.
Because she's worth it: Evangelista is famous for saying she wouldn't wake up for less than $10,000. She is now filing for an unprecedented amount of child support for love-child Augustin
Evangelista meanwhile is reported to be worth $8 million.
Pinault, 49, the CEO of luxury brands firm PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, has a three-year-old daughter, Valentina, with Hayek, born 11 months after Augustin.
The model's lawyer, William Beslow, argued that, while the executive lavishes Valentina with luxuries - spending $50,000 a month for a $12million Los Angeles estate held in trust in her name - he has yet to make investments on behalf of the little boy.
Mr Beslow said. 'He's just been sitting back, paying zero.'
Evangelista and Pinault had a brief affair in 2006 when he had temporarily broken up with Hayek.
He and the Oscar-nominated actress eventually went on marry on Valentine's Day in 2009.
Meanwhile, single mother Evangelista claims she needs the child support sum to pay for nannies and armed chauffeurs to take care of Augustin.
The gobsmacked judge inquired about Evangelista's current employment, to which she responded that she sometimes puts in 16-hour shifts.
She also added: 'On days when I do not work, I am working on my image. I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete.'
