What fashion battle? There was no contest between Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos in terms of the fashion stakes as The X Factor live shows kicked off on Saturday night
When Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue were judges on The X Factor, there were constant comparisons about their fashion choices.
But it seems that this year, the competition isn't going to be nearly as tough, as Kelly Rowland completely overshadowed Tulisa Contostavlos, 23, with her fashion-forward outfits on both shows this weekend.
Things kicked off on Saturday night when Kelly, 30, wowed viewers by donning an eye-catching black, green and gold Atelier Versace dress, teaming the skater-style dress with a pair of sky-high black heels.
Talking about her outfit choice, Kelly told Glamour.com: 'I had so many amazing options that were absolutely gorgeous, but the reaction on my face when I saw this particular dress indicated that THIS was the dress for me.
'I literally had goosebumps and was just speechless for a few minutes, I just kept staring at how amazingly executed this dress was.
'After a while, when I could speak, I couldn't stop raving to my stylists about how much I loved the structure, the detail, the embellishment, the intricate detail in the embellishment, just the whole design of the dress.'
Metallic: Kelly overshadowed Tulisa once again on the elimination show last night when she took to the stage wearing a floor-sweeping Cavalli gown, as Tulisa opted for a short bronze number
Tulisa, meanwhile, took inspiration from former judge Cheryl in a slightly boring nude Hervé Léger dress with volumised curls.
For last night's results show, both girls went for metallic numbers, with Tulisa showing off her legs in a bronze-coloured minidress, and Kelly going for glamour in a floor-sweeping Roberto Cavalli gown.
Meanwhile, Tulisa isn't only taking inspiration from Cheryl in terms of what she wears and how she does her hair, but also with the bizarre salute she greeted fans with at the beginning of the show.
The Female Boss: Tulisa debuted her new salute, which involved bringing her arm up and winking at the camera
Where Cheryl put her hand to her forehead and saluted fans that way, Tulisa is seen lifting her arm halfway up her body and winking at the camera - showing off the large tattoo on her arm which says 'The Female Boss' at the same time.
But fans weren't overly impressed with the salute, taking to Twitter to vent their frustration.
One viewer wrote: 'Dont really care about who's gone, I just want Tulisa to stop doing her 'arm salute'. What even is that?'
And another added: 'Why does Tulisa show her forearm at the beginning of the shows?? Is she trying to have a signature greet like Cheryl Cole's salute?'
One X Factor fan tweeted: 'What the hell is Tulisa doin in her x factor entrance looks like she is a porter waiting to take a coat! Cheryl is the queen.....salute!'
As another concluded: 'Tulisa stop doing that cringey arm wink shit. it's so cheesy. bring CC back! her salute was the best. and she made the x factor.'
This morning, the team on ITV's Daybreak poked fun at Tulisa's salute, raising their arms up to the camera in a similar move as they messed around.
Giggles: Daybreak weather presenter Lucy Verasamy tried out the salute on the ITV show this morning
My way: Entertainment Correspondent Steve Hargrave also showed off the salute this morning
