Spending time together: Catherine Tate poses with fans who spotted her at a park while her new beau Jason Orange (circled) sits on a bench in the background

The first photos have emerged of unlikely new couple Catherine Tate and Jason Orange spending time together outside of work.

It was only revealed yesterday that the comedian and the Take That singer were an item.

And it appears fans were the first to spot the budding romance.

You can't get away that easy! Take That singer Jason had avoided being pictured with Catherine but beamed at the camera when three fans descended on him

Catherine, 43, has been pictured posing happily in a park with nine fans during a day out with Jason, 41, in a photo posted on Twitter.

Her new beau is seen in the background on a park bench, avoiding being snapped with the funny-woman.

But three of the fans then descend on the aviator-clad singer who beams at the camera.

The couple were also pictured together in David Walliams' hotel room last month as they supported the comedian during his River Thames charity swim.

They kept a safe distance between each other, with a camera crew also in tow.

The snap was posted to the Twitter page of David's trainer Greg Whyte, who wrote: 'Jason Orange, Catherine Tate and the mighty [Heat magazine's TV and review editor] @boydhilton have joined us for lunch: what a treat. David in great spirits.'

Double act: Jason Orange and Catherine met on the set of Comic Relief when she dressed as him in a spoof boyband called Fake That

New couple: Catherine and Jason apparently had an overnight trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to see a Midsummer Night’s Dream

Today it was claimed that he fell for Catherine when she squeezed into a pair of figure-hugging black leggings while playing him in spoof boyband Fake That in a sketch filmed for Comic Relief in March.

The Mirror said he told friends: 'She's got great legs.'

A source told the paper: 'Jason seemed very taken by Catherine during filming. She was great fun and really got into the spirit of it. They obviously hit it off.'

The Sun said by the final takes, the smitten pair were hugging and larking around the stage together.

Hitting it off: The pair performed together in the sketch which also featured David Walliams

But the couple apparently didn't get together until meeting up again to support David.

A week later they enjoyed an evening together watching the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of the Bard’s popular romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The RSC confirmed the couple attended the show.

And they have also been seen out together in Kensington, West London, near Jason’s home.

Yesterday Catherine refused to comment on the nature of her relationship with Jason.
While taking her daughter Erin, eight, to school in the morning near their house in East Sheen, South West London.

She shrugged off questions, saying: 'No, no, no' to reporters.

Her ex-partner Twig Clark, who was stage manager for her play at the National Theatre, also declined to comment as he brought their daughter back home from school later in the afternoon.

The couple are thought to have split up over the summer with Twig moving to a flat nearby to be close to their daughter.

Jason, who is notoriously private about his love life, has never been married but has been romantically linked to singer Lulu, TV presenter Jenny Powell and model Kathy Lloyd.

When asked about the relationship, Jason’s twin brother Justin said at his home in Sale, Greater Manchester: 'It’s none of our business.'

Catherine shot to fame playing Lauren Cooper, famous for her catchphrase 'Am I Bovvered?' in her TV sketch show, before landing a role in Doctor Who.

She has also forged a career for herself in the theatre world, having recently starred alongside David Tennant in Much Ado About Nothing.
